A Florida Trial Firm Built on Trust and Results

Mark A. Boyle came to the firm in 1996 and has been the Managing Partner since 2008. Mr. Boyle concentrates his practice in all aspects and types of insurance recovery including coverage denials, claim presentation, bad faith matters, and appeals. The focus of Mr. Boyle’s practice is the representation of business policyholders in large construction insurance disputes and catastrophic losses. Notably, Mr. Boyle has presented oral arguments in appellate cases before the Second District Court of Appeals, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, and the Florida Supreme Court.

Mr. Boyle was the prevailing attorney in the matter of United States Fire Insurance Company v. J.S.U.B., Inc. 979 So. 2d 871 (Fla. 2007). The J.S.U.B. decision allowed coverage for defective construction under a contractor’s commercial general liability policy (CGL) for the first time in Florida history. Mr. Boyle handled the J.S.U.B. matter at the claims presentation stage, at trial, and through final appellate resolution in favor of the policyholder before the Florida Supreme Court. Recently, with the assistance of able co-counsel, our firm prevailed in the matter of Sebo v American Home Assurance Company, 208 So.3d 694 (Fla. 2016). The Sebo decision reaffirmed Florida’s fealty to the Concurrent Cause Doctrine in first party insurance disputes and disallowed the insurer’s attempt to apply the highly restrictive Efficient Proximate Cause rule.

Mark is recognized as a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers Magazine, and is recognized as a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Mr. Boyle has been married to Linda Boyle for twenty nine years and they have two children, Shannon and Mark Andrew.

Justin Thomas joined Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, P.A. in 2014. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced as an associate in a well-established Fort Myers civil and real estate litigation firm. During law school, Mr. Thomas practiced as a student attorney under Michigan’s student practice rule with the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s Office in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Now, Mr. Thomas focuses his practice in the areas of insurance coverage disputes, insurance claim presentation, bad faith matters, commercial and business litigation, and real estate matters.

Mr. Thomas is a Fort Myers native and is married to his high school sweetheart, Nicole. When not practicing law, Mr. Thomas is likely to be found fishing, hunting, and boating.

Molly Chafe Brockmeyer joined Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, P.A. in 2013 after graduation from Ave Maria School of Law and admission to the Florida Bar. During her law school career, Ms. Brockmeyer worked as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Sheri Polster Chappell of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the Honorable Edward C. LaRose of the Florida Second District Court of Appeal. Ms. Brockmeyer served on the editorial board of the Ave Maria Law Review and graduated in the top ten percent of her class. Ms. Brockmeyer obtained her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College where she played Division I softball.

Ms. Brockmeyer focuses her practice in the areas of insurance coverage disputes, insurance claim presentation, bad faith matters, and appeals.

Anna Kelly Shearman joined Boyle, Leonard, & Anderson, P.A. in 2022 after graduating with her Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law.

During her law school career Anna was Editor in Chief of Florida State University Law Review, worked as a legal extern for the Honorable Chief Judge Mark Walker at United States District Court Northern District of Florida, was a research assistant, and was a member of the Trial Team.

Anna concentrates her practice on First and Third party Insurance Coverage Disputes, Appeals, and policy coverage evaluation and analysis.

Anna is located in Fort Myers, Florida and grew up in Dayton, Ohio. In her spare time Anna enjoys reading fiction, playing golf, and spending time with her Fiancé, Brendan and their two dogs.

Alexander Brockmeyer joined Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, P.A., in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Brockmeyer practiced appellate advocacy and commercial litigation at Rogers Towers P.A., and at a boutique law firm in Fort Myers. During his law school career, Mr. Brockmeyer worked as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Sheri Polster Chappell of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and as an intern for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida. He served on the editorial board of the Ave Maria Law Review and graduated fourth in his class. Mr. Brockmeyer obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky.

Mr. Brockmeyer focuses his practice in the areas of insurance coverage disputes, insurance claim presentation, bad faith matters, and appeals.

Andy Yoho joined Boyle Leonard & Anderson, P.A. in 2019 and works out of the firm’s Charleston Office. Andy earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. During law school, Andy worked for the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Committee and served as President of the Student Bar Association. Andy graduated from law school with honors and was a member of the Wig and Robe. Upon graduation he was presented with the Compleat Lawyer Bronze Medallion. After gaining admission to the South Carolina Bar in 2012, Andy worked as a Staff Attorney for the South Carolina Supreme Court. After moving to private practice in 2014, Andy gained valuable experience in the representation of contractors, suppliers, and design professionals in construction and design defect ligation, as well as governmental entities, realtors, and private clubs. Andy now focuses his practice on the representation of policyholders relative to risk transfer issues in the commercial general liability context, insurance claim presentation, bad faith matters, and commercial and business litigation.

Andy is originally from Ridge Spring, South Carolina and in his spare time enjoys hiking, cycling and spending time with his wife and children. In 2014, Andy was named Young Alumnus of the Year by Charleston Southern University.

Clinton T. Magill, Esq., joined Boyle & Leonard, P.A. in 2025, and is currently Of Counsel with the firm’s Charleston office. Mr. Magill focuses his practice on the representation of policyholders relative to risk transfer issues in commercial general liability matters, insurance claim presentation, and in the bad faith context, as well as businesses and owners in connection with commercial disputes and contract negotiations. His experience has also equipped him well to handle complex issues in other areas of the law, and he has a knack for developing unique strategies for clients and/or prospective co-counsel who have been presented with novel or otherwise difficult legal issues.

Mr. Magill graduated with a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Miami (FL) and began his career as a financial analyst for an international cosmetics company before transitioning into a law career. He studied at Charleston School of Law, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2016. That same year, Mr. Magill gained admission to the South Carolina Bar and began his legal practice by primarily representing owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers in connection with design and construction defect litigation involving both commercial and residential properties, while also gaining experience in insurance coverage matters and bad faith litigation. Driven by his creative instincts and fulfillment from intellectual strategy, he eventually expanded his capabilities across numerous areas of law; including, but not limited to, business law and commercial disputes, real estate matters, appellate practice, securities fraud, mass torts, and banking & finance litigation. Throughout his practice, Mr. Magill has served clients in the capacity of plaintiff’s counsel (including a class), defendant’s counsel, and as personal or outside general counsel in non-litigation matters.

Mr. Magill was born and raised in Charleston, SC, where he returned to pursue his law career after residing in Miami, Florida, for six years during and after college. In his spare time, Clinton enjoys playing his electric guitar, soccer, hiking, and spending quality time with his wife, Rachel Igdal, who is also an attorney.

Laura Locklair joined Boyle & Leonard, P.A. in 2017, and is the managing attorney of the firm’s Charleston office.  Mrs. Locklair studied at the University of South Carolina School of Law where she was a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe.  After gaining admission to The South Carolina Bar in 2008, she began representing owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers in connection with design and construction defect litigation involving commercial properties and multi-family and single family residential dwellings.  Mrs. Locklair also has experience representing companies, homeowners’ associations, and property owners in personal injury cases arising out of alleged construction defects and industrial accidents, title insurance claims, and insurance disputes.  Mrs. Locklair now focuses her practice on the representation of policyholders relative to risk transfer issues in the commercial general liability context, insurance claim presentation, bad faith matters, and commercial and business litigation.

In 2015, Mrs. Locklair was nominated for and held a seat on the General Counsel Construction Law Section for the South Carolina Bar.  She was selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2018, a peer designation awarded based on, among other cogent factors, professional achievement in legal practice.

Mrs. Locklair is originally from upstate South Carolina.  In her spare time,  Laura enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her husband, Jason, and daughter, Gwen.

Vincent Grosso joined Boyle, Leonard & Anderson P.A. in 2023 and is based in the Charleston, South Carolina office. Vincent graduated Magna Cum Laude from the College of William and Mary where he double majored in history and government and earned his Juris Doctor from the William and Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law, our nation’s oldest law school. While there, Vincent served on the staff of the Bill of Rights Journal and as the president of the George Wythe Society of Citizen Lawyers.

Following law school, Vincent clerked for both the Honorable Margaret B. Seymour, Senior United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina, and the Honorable Mary Gordon Baker, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of South Carolina. Vincent’s Federal clerkships provided him with invaluable experience in analyzing complex legal issues including procedural as well as substantive questions of law. This experience also gives Vincent exceptional insight and understanding of the litigation process, legal research, and brief writing.

Prior to joining Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, Vincent practiced at a well-respected regional defense firm, where he primarily represented design professionals (including architects, engineers, and surveyors), general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in complex construction defect cases.

Vincent has successfully represented clients in all South Carolina courts and is well versed in both state and federal appellate practice.

As a dual citizen with the Republic of France, Vincent is fluent in spoken and written French, which brings an international perspective to his practice.

In his free time, Vincent enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, traveling, cinema, and tinkering with his classic cars.

Amanda Anderson joined Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, P.A. in 2011 upon graduating from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.  She is the managing attorney of the firm’s Tampa office and in December of 2016, Amanda became a partner of Boyle & Leonard, P.A. She worked as a Law Clerk until gaining admission to The Florida Bar in September 2011. During law school, Ms. Anderson volunteered at Three Rivers Legal Services and worked as a summer law clerk at Russell T. Kirshy, attorney at law and the Mack Law Firm. Ms. Anderson has done various community service projects throughout Florida.

Ms. Anderson’s practice focuses primarily on the representation of business policyholders, typically contractors, relative to various risk transfer issues in the commercial general liability context, insurance claim presentation, bad faith, commercial and business litigation and appeals.  Ms. Anderson is licensed in Florida and South Carolina.

Ms. Anderson is originally from Englewood, Florida and enjoys boating, fishing, and attending sporting events.

Austin Westergom is a member of the Florida and Texas Bar associations. Austin is based in the Tampa office of Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, P.A., and his practice primarily focuses on complex commercial litigation, including first- and third-party coverage. Prior to joining our firm, Austin spent several years practicing with national insurance defense firms in Texas, where he gained experience in a variety of commercial contract disputes, including first- and third-party coverage and bad-faith litigation.

Austin completed his undergraduate studies in Economics at Florida State University, where he was selected as a Presidential Scholar and Global Citizenship Award recipient. While at FSU, Austin studied business law abroad in London and successfully defended his Honors in the Major thesis on “The Economic Impact of Asylum Migration in Sweden.”

Austin obtained his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. While in law school, Austin received the Dean’s Achievement Award for top marks in Negotiations as well as the Parents Leadership Association Endowment for Excellence. Austin also served as a student attorney in the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic and was an active member in the Texas Real Estate Law Society. Austin worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Cory J. Ciklin of the Fourth District Court of Appeals in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Austin is a native Floridian, having grown up in Sebring, Florida. He enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, and watching his favorite teams—Florida State football and Manchester United soccer.

James “Cory” Wilkinson joined Boyle Leonard & Anderson, P.A. in 2023 and works out of the firm’s Tampa office.  Cory focuses his practice on representing policyholders in insurance matters, including first-party and third-party litigation, claim presentation, bad faith, and risk transfer issues in the commercial general liability context.  He is a member of the Florida Bar, with admission to practice in all Florida State Courts.

Prior to joining Boyle Leonard & Anderson, Cory was a partner at a statewide insurance defense firm where his practice primarily involved defending insurance carriers in first-party property insurance litigation.

Originally from the Tampa Bay area, Cory obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin before returning to Florida and earning his law degree from Stetson University College of Law.  He lives in St. Petersburg, Florida with his wife and son (and dog).

Ellen Smith joined Boyle Leonard & Anderson, P.A. in 2014.  Mrs. Smith began her career as an assistant state attorney after graduation from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2011.  Since becoming a member of the Florida bar, Mrs. Smith has conducted numerous jury trials.  During law school, Mrs. Smith clerked at Liles, Gavin & George P.A.  She also was a certified legal intern and worked at Jacksonville’s Office of General Counsel and in her law school’s foreclosure clinic.  Mrs. Smith graduated in the top three percent of her law school class and participated in her school’s Moot Court Honor Board.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

George H. Featherstone focuses his practice in the areas of insurance coverage litigation, bad faith, general liability, commercial litigation, and business disputes. Mr. Featherstone has represented clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies, regional and local businesses, and individuals.

Mr. Featherstone earned his Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University Law School and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Middle, Northern, and Southern Districts of Florida.

Gregory L.  Evans joined Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, P. A. in 2016. Mr. Evans is a Martindale-Hubbell “AV Preeminent” Rated Attorney with extensive and recognized experience in complex first-party insurance, third-party insurance and extra-contractual claims.  The focus of Mr. Evans’ practice is the representation of individual and commercial policyholders in all aspects of the insurance claim, including claims presentation, coverage denials, litigation, insurance bad faith, and appeals. Mr. Evans’ experience includes the resolution of coverage disputes arising under automobile liability, uninsured motorist, commercial general liability, professional liability, homeowners, property, life, and individual disability policies.

Mr. Evans resides in Saint Petersburg with his wife, Kathy, and their son, Aidan.

Kendra F. Shaw joined Boyle, Leonard & Anderson P.A. in 2023 and is based in the Tampa office. Ms. Shaw graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 2004;  and began her career litigating complex commercial and international cargo/freight forwarder cases.

Ms. Shaw is an experienced litigator who has practiced in insurance coverage and litigation since 2006,  with an emphasis on first-party property and liability matters.  Ms. Shaw also formerly served as general counsel for a homeowners insurance carrier; managing the legal department, and handling a variety of corporate matters.

Ms. Shaw has extensive experience representing clients in Florida state and federal courts, from the initial claim stages through trial.

Kristina Harris is an associate based in the Tampa office of Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, P.A where she focuses her practice on insurance coverage disputes and risk transfer issues in the commercial general liability context, insurance claim presentation, and commercial litigation.

Kristina is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida.

Kristina completed her undergraduate studies at the University of West Florida in her hometown of Pensacola, Florida where she studied history and psychology. While there, she was selected as a Kugelman Honors Scholar and J.C. Pace Scholar and completed a study abroad semester in Tokyo, Japan.

Kristina obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Stetson University College of Law. During law school, Kristina worked as a law clerk at a statewide insurance defense firm, served as a research assistant, and served as a teacher’s assistant for legal research and writing. She also published a journal article in the U.C. Davis Journal of International Law and Policy entitled Seeking an Equitable Standard for Transactions in the International Antiquities Trade: A Critique of the 1995 UNIDROIT Convention on Stolen or Illegally Exported Cultural Objects while in law school.

After gaining admission to the Florida Bar, Kristina spent several years at prominent insurance defense firms, primarily focusing on first-party coverage issues and extra contractual “bad faith” litigation. There, she gained experience dealing with a variety of insurance coverage issues at both pre and post-suit stages, including, multi-property commercial claims, residential claims, builders risk claims, business interruption claims, and jewelers claims.

In her spare time, Kristina enjoys reading, gardening, and practicing Taekwondo.

Maxwell H. Stape is an Attorney at Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, P.A. and works in our Tampa office.  Additionally, Maxwell is a Florida native and a “triple nole” graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science, Masters in Business Administration, and his Juris Doctorate on an accelerated schedule.

Prior to joining Boyle, Leonard & Anderson, P.A. Maxwell spent several years at a prominent law firm devoted entirely to defense and insurance litigation, where the firm’s clients were large insurance companies across America, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Now, utilizing the knowledge and experience gained defending large insurance companies, Maxwell’s practice focuses on representing policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes and litigation, including risk transfer issues in the commercial general liability context, first-party property, bad faith, and commercial litigation matters.

With his dynamic experience, Maxwell is involved in all phases of the process. He not only works to ensure his clients are informed from intake to resolution, but also that the solutions provided align with his clients’ needs and goals.
